“BRUNO BARBEY – Always on the Move” is a photographic exhibition at the National Museum in Warsaw showing the work of an outstanding French photojournalist who spent part of his career in Poland. The exhibition is divided into 4 sections showing the diversity of the artist’s work, ranging from very painterly colour photography to strictly reporter-like black-and-white shots.
In the vestibule, a map of the world is displayed on the wall, with all the countries from which the photographs presented at the exhibition originate marked. The main, elongated exhibition hall is divided by three portals, which frame the space like a camera’s viewfinder and optically alter its proportions. The transverse walls have been painted in an uneven, artistic manner reminiscent of that which can be seen in the photographs on display.
